In January 2018, NTP of Sumatera Utara Province (2012 = 100) was
recorded at 98.17, or down 0.98 percent compared to NTP December 2017 of
99.14.

The decrease in NTP in January 2018 was caused by the decrease of NTP
in the Horticulture subsector by 0.12 percent, the Subsector of
Plantation Plantation by 2.59 percent, the Livestock sub-sector by 1.08
percent, and the Fisheries sub-sector by 1.19 percent. While the Food
Crops sub-sector rose by 0.88 percent.

Changes in Household Consumption Index (IKRT) reflect the rate of rural
inflation / deflation. In January 2018, there was a rural inflation
rate in Sumatera Utara of 1.45 percent. This was due to an increase in
index in all household consumption groups, namely foodstuff index by
2.10 percent, index of food, beverage, cigarette and tobacco group by
1.20 percent, housing group index by 0.75 percent, group index clothing
by 0.75 percent, health group index by 1.56 percent, education,
recreation and sports group index by 0.91 percent, and transportation
and communication group index by 0.36 percent.

Agricultural Household Trade Rate (NTUP) of Sumatera Utara Province in
January 2018 was 107.09 or decreased 0.77 percent compared to NTUP in
the previous month.
