Abstract

• The number of foreign tourists (tourists) visiting Sumatera Utara through 4 (four) entrances in October 2018 reached 18,288 visits. Experienced a decrease of 8.03 percent compared to those who arrived in September 2018 reaching 19,855 visits. When compared with the same month in 2017, the number of foreign tourists in October 2018 fell by 19.30 percent, from 22,663 visits in October 2017 to 18,288 visits.

• In October 2018, foreign tourists from Malaysia were the most visitors with 10,406 visits or 56.90 percent of total foreign tourists visiting Sumatera Utara.

• The Room Occupancy Rate (TPK) of star hotels in North Sumatra in October 2018 reached an average of 38.84 percent, down 4.56 points compared to September 2018 of 43.40 percent.

• The average length of stay of foreign guests and Indonesian guests in star-rated hotels in October 2018 reaches 1.66 days, up 0.30 points compared to September 2018.

• The number of domestic passengers departing from Sumatera Utara via Kualanamu International Airport during October 2018 reached 307,051 people, up 4.95 percent compared to September 2018 which reached 292,582 people.

• The number of inter-island (domestic) sea transport passengers departing in October 2018 was 2,616, down 45.20 percent compared to 4,774 people in the previous month.
