Abstract
EXPORT
• The export value through loading ports in the Sumatera Utara region in November 2018 has decreased compared to October 2018, ie from US $ 817.60 million to US $ 707.51 million or a decrease of 13.46 percent. When compared with November 2017, Sumatera Utara's exports decreased by 10.09 percent.
• The largest increase in Sumatera Utara's export value in November 2018 to October 2018 occurred in coffee, tea, spices (HS 09) amounting to US $ 11.24 million (37.11%) followed by tobacco (HS 24) of US $ 4.20 million (17.13%). While the biggest decrease occurred in animal / vegetable oils and fats at US $ 27.08 million (-9.54%), followed by various chemical products (HS 38) of US $ 17.03 million (-18.56%),
• Exports to China in November 2018 were the largest, namely US $ 94.59 million, followed by the United States of US $ 73.64 million, and Japan at US $ 45.01 million with the contribution of the three reaching 30.14 percent.
• According to the group of export destination countries in November 2018, exports to the Asian region (outside ASEAN) are the largest with a value of US $ 237.85 million (33.62 percent).
IMPORT
• The import value through Sumatera Utara in November 2018 on the basis of CIF (cost, insurance & freight) amounted to US $ 419.70 million, a decrease of 19.62 percent compared to October 2018 which reached US $ 522.15 million. When compared with the same month in the previous year, the value of imports decreased by 13.44 percent.
• Import value in November 2018 compared to October 2018, capital goods fell by 35.65 percent, raw / auxiliary materials fell by 19.17 percent, and consumer goods rose by 8.55 percent.
• In November 2018, the category of goods experiencing the largest increase in import value was fertilizer (HS 31) of US $ 8.40 million (48.10%), while the categories of goods which experienced the largest decline in import value were machinery / electrical equipment ( HS 85) of US $ 30.30 million (-52.60%).
• The November 2018 import value from China was the largest, namely US $ 134.35 million, with a role reaching 32.01 percent of Sumatera Utara's total imports, followed by Singapore at US $ 55.77 million (13.29%), and Malaysia at US $ 29 , 05 million (6.92%).
